Tween Portraits | Elise & Natalie

I had a wonderful session with Elise and Natalie, two sisters who took part in my Who I Am Project earlier this year. This project celebrates the uniqueness of pre-teen girls by collecting stories and memories of how important they are to people who know them. These stories and written remembrances are meant to remind them that they are wonderful because of who they are, and to give them a boost of confidence as they move forward into young adulthood and middle school.

As with all of my Who I Am photo shoots, I gave questionnaires to the girls and their parents. I use the answers to put together a slideshow for each of them after their photo shoots.

I met Elise and Natalie with their mom in Folsom CA. It was fun spending time with them, getting to know them, and learning all about what they were interested in.

Natalie is the middle child in the family, and the oldest girl. Friends and other people who know her describe her as kind, creative, and lovable. She considers herself to be kind, artistic, and friendly. Indeed, her teacher says that she has a gift for artistic expression and does all of her work with care. Her friends appreciate her because she is open-minded, has her own personal style, and fun to be around. She can’t live without her friends, her family, and her cats.

Elise is the youngest in her family. Her mom calls her adventurous and she admits that she loves going places (especially to shop!). Her friends and family describe her as loving, funny, easy-going, persevering, and “wildly awesome”. Elise loves to draw dragons, play the violin and piano. Her friends enjoy hanging out with her because of her silly yet warm and sensitive nature. She also has quite the selection of shoes (a girl after my own heart ;) )

Thank you Elise and Natalie for spending your afternooon with me!
