I am so thankful for Farmers Markets, especially the ones open mid-week. The one at the VA Mather Hospital is conveniently located with ample parking. It's a Year Round Market open every Wednesday (rain or shine!) from 9:00 to 1:00. It's perfectly situated in front of a hospital where anyone from visitors to doctors can purchase beautiful items and fresh healthy food while supporting the local economy.
The quality and variety of items for sale there makes up for its size. It was nice to see a fiber artist and other crafters. A baker specializing in artisan break was there too, as well as a flower seller with colorful bouquets.
It's always nice to see familiar signs like the one from J&J Ramos Farms and their gorgeous fruit. I was tickled to see yellow raspberries! Although I'll miss the array of these summer fruits when September rolls around, it will be nice to get some fresh apples, pumpkins, and all the winter vegetables.
I took time to admire some of the colorful heart-shaped gemstones from one of the vendors - I have a soft spot for jewelers since I gave up my beaded jewelry business before my son was born. It was tempting to purchase one of them - some of them look like rainbows captured in a stone.
