I have good news and bad news. The good news is that fall is here. The bad news is that summer is over.
The good news is I have lots of photos to share with you. The bad news is that I don't have pictures of everything...which isn't so bad if you think about it. That just means that I was in the moment more. My shots have been more intentional, a necessity with my children. They have gotten better about letting me take pictures but I know they would prefer I didn't. One shot is usually what I get, so I make the most of it.
Our big family trip this year was to Yosemite. It seriously is one of those places that I can visit over and over again. At the end of our trip, my husband declared that he wanted to hike the Mist Trail. Eager to please, I booked a few days next year so we could!
We also visited South Lake Tahoe with my brother, who visited us from San Francisco. There are so many things here, that it was hard to choose one. I finally settled on the Rainbow Walk near the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. This area holds memories for me - the first time we visited South Lake Tahoe was this area, when my daughter was about a year old. My parents stayed with us. In fact, my father enjoyed the time so much, he took home a rock to commemorate it. It still sits on his desk. My favorite part of this walk is the underground aquarium.
We also went to the Folsom Aquatic Center. I like to call this the smaller and less expensive version of Sunsplash in Roseville. It is lots of fun, despite the lack of HUGE slides. I purchased an Olympus Tough G-4 so that I could take more photos in and around water. It was worth it! Look at the pictures of my kids, especially my son underwater!
These are just a few highlights from my summer. I've posted some pictures already of my Farmer's Market Project, which I am hoping to continue after I catch up with the rest of my blog posts and Instagram shares.
What have you been up to? Please comment on how your summer was in the comments - I can't wait to hear from you!!
