A model photoshoot at Ione CA
I visited the Preston Castle during the last Photographer Day in August. I wanted to do a Victorian styled photoshoot there, and I am very grateful to Emily Turner for modelling for me.
I met Emily at a photosession for Tabitha Kit of Kit International Talent.
If you have following me for a while, you'll remember that I love this venue. The light there is wonderful for doing artistic shoots. Emily was a dream to work with!
I love low-light places like this, as they challenge me to use the ambient light to create photographic pieces like the ones you see here.
This day, we had a chance to spend some time in the wine cellar. This was a welcome relief, as the temperature outside topped 100 degrees. Given that the castle is not air conditioned you can probably imagine that it got pretty warm indoors. Not surprisingly, the light was gorgeous there too.
The castle was open until 8:00 pm that evening, so it was nice to be able to take some photos during the golden hour. I also enjoyed using the brick work outside as a backdrop for some of the shots.
I am always looking for new faces to shoot here - if you or anyone that you know is interested in participating in a model photo session with me, let me know!
