A fashion model session in Roseville CA
I had the opportunity last year to photograph Miranda, a lovely young lady from Gridley CA. She was asked to model a hi-low tutu dress from Little Ladybug Tutus. This shop makes the most adorable tutu dresses that are perfect for any special occasion.
I met Miranda a few months ago when she, along with her sister and a few other girls, participated in a model photoshoot for the July 4th issue of Petite Magnifique Magazine. I was contacted by Tabitha Kit from KIT International Talent Agency.
We met in Roseville CA just before sunset. I chose a park there so that none of us had to travel too far to do the session.
I loved that I was able to be more creative with the photographs with this session. Instead of focusing solely on Miranda, I was able to compose the images to show off the dress. Keeping in mind that this was a product shoot, I took many pictures of the beautiful details, such as the sequined skirt and flower detail near the neckline, the design of the dress, and the ribbon on the back. I also photographed Miranda at different angles and views.
For my portfolio purposes, I re-edited the below photos to add a little more mood to them. I imported the photos into Lightroom where I always start my photo processing. I added a light matte, fixed the white balance, and made the colors more vibrant. Then I exported them into Photoshop. There, I stylized them with an action from Jessica Drossin to bring down the shadows.
