Another year has gone by…I would have never guessed that we would be living in another state, living in a different house, my kids going to completely different schools, not to mention not having a backyard fence (if you knew about my dog, you would understand why I mention this).
Since our move in September, I’ve been feeling very uninspired. The stress of the move, the ever-changing weather, and homeschooling both of my children have probably not helped in this respect. California living spoiled me... North Carolina, on the other hand, likes to surprise me with rain storms after beautiful clear days and freezing cold mornings after spring-like afternoons from the day before.
If you ask me what it is that dampens my inspiration, I could not give you an answer. It’s not the cold temperatures - I love photographing the snow. It’s not the rain - I still remember the Eagle Chase at GVCS where I took all of my photos in the rain and they are still some of my favorite images. The kids are on break from school, and will be for the next few days. We live in a new area, so there are a ton of things that I could take pictures of. There are so many historical places that are within driving distance. If I drive downtown, the old homes are within walking distance.
As a photographer, I tend to like capturing and then using the images to decorate my house. Going online and purchasing someone else’s work??? Craziness… Even uninspired, I knew that I probably had something in my files to decorate our still-blank walls.
This morning I perused through my hard drives to see if I could make anything print-worthy. I did - and I am happy to share that I am ready to print them out. I am so excited.
I used several tools from Jessica Drossin, as well as some flares from Creative Market. I hope you like them too =)
