I enjoyed meeting up with Gina & Jacob in Folsom California last month for a Mom & Me Model Call. I first met them a few years ago when my son started playing soccer and Jacob was on his team. They have been on the same team since.
Boys this age can be a challenge to photograph. My son, for instance, hates to be in front of the camera. It's almost like he has a sixth sense when I have my camera out!
I'm glad to report that Jacob didn't mind being in pictures with his mom =) They have a natural and easy connection which was reflected in the images I captured of them together.
I loved chatting with both of them during our session. They shared that they went to Portugal recently, close to where Gina's family lives. They traveled all over the country and ate all the delicious food that it had to offer - sounds like a great trip to me!
My favorite part of the session was exploring Old Folsom with them and finding different places to take their photos. While I usually lean towards the natural areas near the bridge, I thought the more rustic backdrops of the town would be more fitting for their mom & son portraits. There is a train depot in in the area, as well as buildings that have been there since the Gold Rush days (!).
Thank you Gina & Jacob for being part of my Mom & Me Model Call and spending time with me =)
I am so grateful for all of the mothers that participated in my Mom & Me Model Call. I hope all of you enjoyed your sessions and love your portraits with your precious children!
